Replacing battery on Apple Watch 6

I have had an Apple Watch 6 for a few years now, and recently, I noticed that the battery doesn’t hold a charge as it used to - I have to recharge it daily. It seems that Apple no longer supports battery replacement for Series 6, as the option to replace the battery doesn’t appear when I enter the serial number.

So, I decided to replace it myself since I enjoy fixing things.

iFixit delivered the battery, adhesive, and tools in just 4 days. The replacement itself took about 1 hour.

The most challenging step was prying the watch open with the ‘iOpener’. I had to heat it up 3 times before the original adhesive gave way :)

The rest was just following the instructions from the iFixit website.

The battery is identical in shape and size to the original, with the same voltage and capacity. The device recognized it and booted without any issues.

The only problem now is that the watch is stuck at 100% battery. It appears to be a common problem, even without the battery replacement. My plan is to give it a few full charge/full discharge cycles to calibrate the battery.
